Joox.net: view full screen movies in Divx quality on the internet!

Just got noted to an amazing website: Joox . This could be a serious Joost competitor. You can view a lot of movies, documentaries and tv shows in great quality! So what’s the catch? I really don’t know. I couldn’t find google ads, commercials or something like that and you don’t have to register or get invited. How do they pay for all the bandwidth? This makes me curious. But for now, take a look, while it lasts.

Joox, the Joost alternative

What’s the catch, you wonder? Probably that Joox doesn’t seem to care about copyrights at all… :D

For example, you can watch Shrek 3, a movie which isn’t even in theaters yet here in the Netherlands, for free on Joox. This makes me wonder just how long it will take for the cease and decist letters to arrive…;)

Yeah, it’s really weird. I think they will try to get this as popular as they can, and then sell the domain or something. I can’t seem to find another reason.

There are more websites like this but the quallity is really outstanding. They use the divX webplayer that is maybe why it is so good but the files are above the 100 mb that is a lot

Joox.net simply feeds from the stage6 website so it will end up being stage6 being sent the letters not joox.net. Evidently stage6 has lasted this long so no problems.

Put the word on Gathering of Tweakers (dutch), to make an Xbox MediaCenter script (XBMC) for it. Would be really cool to have this Video on Demand concept. You can read the topic here:

The joox server goes up and down like a ping pong ball. There is another site just like it that is fast:

whats the catch?

well Joox.net is nothing more than a tracker similiar to torrents. Their servers don’t physically house th emovies, they mirror them via redirection to divx.stage6

also Joox.net is for the mass consumption of copy righted materials (illegally) but doesn’t physically run the risk of getting in to much trouble about it because they don’t house the movies, simply direct people as to where they can find them.

Joox.net and Joost have NOTHING in common. Not in their business plans and not in their structures or concepts. Joox.net is more than likely built by one or two movie bootleggers who were sick of surfing tons of sites to try and find the good stuff. So they made 1 place to put ALL the good stuff. ;)

i have to agree chad,

and im the one which is sick of missing the good or rarely movies on joox.net just because they are sometimes just for a short time online.

My solution is http://www.jooxreminder.com, which is noting else than a search on joox.net which reminds you if a certain movie is online on joox.

So if you wont miss a movie on joox, register and create you searches and get informed if the search matches…

Cheers
Stefan

Why is it that whenever a good, free - for the people site gets open everyone has to get all suspiciouse about it and hate!

You want New Free DVD quality movies well they’re giving it to you! Later on when it for some reason closes down, y’all be like damn isnt there any site out there that i can download movies for free!

Stop being haters - and enjoy the generosity of joox!

On http://www.eVid.nl you can watch for free online movies. But the site is in Dutch language ;) It’s very easy just click on ”Bekijk film” and you can watch the movie.

As an ex-joox uploader, here are two sites I discovered that are equivalent to joox, meaning the video
files are in divx format and the sites take files up to 1Gb.
